Christmas 2010

I LOVE christmas!! I love Christmas even more now that I have kids! It really is such a wonderful time of year! I know it can get stressful, but for good reasons....we are all concerned about others, and their happiness, more than ourselves. People are just different during the month of December. People are a little more generous, a little kinder, a little happier, and basically just more like our greatest example, Christ. I love that we get to hear more about Him, read more about Him and really celebrate His birth and life.

We had a great Christmas full of parites, family, food, gifts and excitement!! We stayed at my parents house, and Santa found us there! McKay got a spiderman bike, a remote control car, an art kit, and lots of other things from grandma's and grandpa's! Ella got a barbie bike, a baby with a stroller, a little doll house and also a lot things from gpa's and gma's. Porter got a little fish thing that makes sounds, formula, diapers and the fun stuff from gma and gpa. I got very spoiled and got a cricut, a steam mop and a new dust buster! AWESOME!! I was so surprised! Carl is the best! He just knows that cleaning items make me VERY VERY happy! I really stunk it up this year with Carl's gifts. I need to focus more on him. Sad. My Sister in law did a really cool thing with her husband. They bought each other three gifts and did a stocking for each other. One gift is something useful (vaccuum, tools ect.), another, is a gift of wonder (anything) and the last is a gift of meaning (something handmade). I LOVE this idea. It makes gift giving to the hunny a little more special! I may try this next year if I remember! Christmas was AWESOME!

I always wish I took more pictures, but this is all I have! I didn't get any of all the great parties we went too, but they were all so fun...just take my word for it! haha

looks like so much fun! i'm trying to get back into blogging, i took a long (unintentional) break. I love seeing what you're up to and seeing your cute family. hopefully i will be all caught up soon.

i like your sister-in-law's gift giving idea. allie told me after christmas about the saying, "something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read". i guess it's a good christmas mantra to live by because our kids got way too much and now I am annoyed by the stuff.

love ya!
