Last Thursday, on the 14th McKay had his tonsils & adenoids out & had tubes put in both ears. He had to be to the hospital by 6:15am and was out of surgery and home by 10:00am. He did really, really well. The doctor told us that his tonsils & adenoids were "HUGE"...so I am really glad that we got them out!! He has been doing sooooo good! I was nervous that he wouldn't eat, and would be really hard, but he has been a CHAMP! Surgery is a scary thing, and all the wierd stuff that goes through your head is the worst part about it....BUT his doctor was great, and he is healing really well. He ate two bags of popsicles, which I think he LOVED!! We love the little guy so much. He is just getting so big!! He is really into Spiderman & Batman right now. He puts on his spiderman costumes everyday...and he has to wear spiderman pajamas to bed every night. This stage is so fun! He can be a little stinker for sure...but most of the time, he is a really GOOD kid. We Love him so much!!

I have to say he is one charming little guy...so darling...bless his little heart thats so tough on these little people to go through a surgery like that! get well soon!
I love the hospital hat McKay! Glad the surgery went well.
Glad it all went well. What a cutey!
I am so sorry that you had to experience having a kid go into surgery. We have had two of our girls in for surgery and how worried you feel being a parent. I am glad that everything turned out well. And both your children are very cute.
Bridgett and I am sure that Derrick would want to say HI
Poor baby! Glad everything went well.
Poor guy. I hope he's doing better now. Carson had his adenoids out as well. All I can remember about the whole thing was his breath......whooooooo....that was nasty! Beware :-)
Oh no! There is nothing scarier than your child being sick, and you just wishing it were you instead!! I'm glad everything went well, though. I have to agree that this stage is so fun. EVERYTHING in Rio's life revolves around Batman, and I just had to laugh at all the Spiderman paraphernalia you mentioned... :)
glad he made it through well- he will be a different kid with tubes!
Sounds like he is doing well and recovering quickly! Was he getting sick alot? Marlee gets a cough & cold every 6 weeks?? We were thinking of taking her to a specialist to check her adnoids...
I am so glad that the surgery went good!! I bet that you were a nervous wreck. He is such a little cutie in his spiderman outfit. Miss ya!
He looks so cute...it is so sad to see them hurt!
What a little champ. I hear that's horrible. Sorry :( He is so old it makes me sad how fast time goes by.
Oh no! Allie's little boy Zack had to have that exact same surgery and it really helped a lot...he's started to get fluid in his ears again recently though, why can't kids just always be healthy? I'm glad that McKay is such a trooper and I wish that we lived closer so that our boys could play since they sound like they are cut from the same cloth. My boys are still in the costume-wearing, superhero p.j. loving phase of life. We need to see each other again soon! Love you!
